The ΠAΠΙ Tee draws from inspired from The Treachery of Images, René Magritte’s iconic work that reminds us:
what we see is never the object itself.
Here, the word ΠΙΠΑ appears, meaning pipe, but also something else entirely.
Placed like a sale street listing, framed like a museum label, accompanied by the phrase:
“Ceci n’est pas une pipe.” “This Is Not a Pipe”
A statement that both explains and confuses.
Because meaning slips.
Language breaks.
Images lie.
And somewhere in between, we exist.
We describe ourselves.
We present versions.
We turn identity into something visible, readable, searchablealmost like a listing in our social media profiles.
A life displayed. A self for rent.
no imagery depiction has any offensive intent, mirely artistic expression an to honor the aesthetics of the Greek 80’s era.
